Becoming a Member

Being a member of the CWU Capital Branch means that you’ll be joining forces with over 185,000 other workers and speaking with a stronger voice for a better working life. The CWU is affiliated to both the Trades Union Congress and the UNI Global Union.

Membership costs from £5.35 to £15.79 per month; subscription fees vary dependant on employer and number of hours worked per week. When joining online you will be quoted the amount your membership fees will cost.

But what can union membership give you outside of round the clock employment counsel?

Better pay and conditions

We campaign for and represent members like you, fighting for your right to better pay and working conditions. CWU members can access a broad range of legal services via our partnership with Unionline. UnionLine is unique in that it is wholly owned by unions and as such it operates on a not-for-profit basis which means that UnionLine focuses on providing the best possible service and value to members, rather than focusing on profit. The aim is to provide the first line of support to members for any legal need.

Treat yourself and your loved ones

CWU Capital Branch members have access to a variety of benefits that can please the entire family. From discounted gym membership, cinema tickets, holidays and even insurance. You’ll never miss the trending blockbuster movies.

We are a campaigning union and work hard to get our voice – YOUR voice – heard on a variety of subjects in the workplace, such as fair pay, pensions, fair terms & conditions, health & safety and equal opportunities. We also campaign in relevant areas of the economy, industry, society and politics.
